Hi...
We ran 1000 extra upper rings to fix the mismatch issue. It took us longer than I had hoped as we had a machine go down for 3 weeks.
These are the Gen 2 Tikka rings, not *Premier Tikka Rings*. Ti clamp, 6061 everywhere else.
The slight cost increase was due to making the clamps out of titanium instead of 6061 aluminum. Just the material blank of titanium to make 4 of the Ti tikka clamps costs more than we could make 10 entire 6061 clamps out of. And that's before we even machine the titanium.
The Gen 1's had a few (we're talking well sub 1% here, and not like the scythe failure 1% lol) slippage issues on 300 WSM and 300 win mag. So after making the rings for 2 years it was decided to improve them so running a bigger magnum on a tikka wouldn't have any issues. That's how we landed on the low profile titanium clamp, and the cleaner more modern looking 45 degree corner cut vs the old radius on the Gen 1 rings.
We (SRS) do our best to test our products before we bring them to market. A good example would be that I was the guinea pig at the Belt MT NRL Hunter with our new Grim suppressor brake to make sure it performed how it should, and didn't come loose. It did great so we moved into production. We also shot it a bunch with "rapid fire" on a 300 PRC.
