Ultralight Camp Shoe

Size 11. “Cool comfort clogs” purchased online through Walmart. 6.3 oz for the pair. Purchased these for an elk hunt a few weeks ago. Have been a “weight weenie” for so long I never considered such a thing to be useful or worthwhile in the past. Liked having them on the hunt this year so much I will be using them from here on out. Really nice to be able to slip the boots off and let the feet breathe mid day and at camp. Also liked these so much I purchased another pair for around the house. image.jpg

Save ya some money and buy a knock off brand of low cut canvas tennis shoes, pretty light, easy to clean, tie them to the outside of your pack so there accessible for water crossings or wader fishing

Has anybody ever used these sandals for a camp shoe? I currently use crocs but these seem just a couple ounces lighter but significantly smaller in regards to space. So I was just curious as I hadn’t seen them mentioned or if they were I missed them.

I’ve been getting ads for these lately. I have a pair of the Zero sandals which are pretty similar. They are fine for a camp shoe and I wear them fishing a lot, BUT, when you have to negotiate some slightly technical/rocky terrain to, say, fetch some water, the total lack of lateral support really reveals itself as your foot will totally slide laterally irregardless of how tight you have the straps. I can live it, they are light and compact, but sometimes it’s not awesome.

Still, though, I refuse to lower my ethics bar to the point of wearing crocs and, as a size 13, they are bulky AF.
