While ago I was thinking of many different ways to lighten/minimize my pack while solo hunting. Looking at replacing my aluminum tipi pole or using my trekking poles as the center pole. Most of time once set up my spike camp during archery season I leave my trekking poles at the tent. Iv looked at few options but all the ways to connect didn’t seem strong enough to me. Around this same time I was looking at new tripods. Looking at the few tripods with removable legs to use as trekking poles. Again wasn’t impressed.

After a while of searching I was scrolling Amazon and I came across a Ulanzi tt35 tripod. A tripod with removable legs and that’s can be used for trekking poles. The thing that got my attention was the connection. It like a snap collar. I honestly not sure how well it will do once it gets dirt in there but the concept is great. The best part is the legs can be snap together to make a single pole with a durable connection point.

Needless to say I order one. It had things I was after combined into 1. But after handling it for a day i decided I didn’t want to give up my tripod for my tent center pole.

But the connecting trekking poles still had my interest. And after some digging I found just the legs. On B&H they sell the legs individually. 69$ a piece and weigh 9.7 oz each. I order a pair. Looking forward to testing these this archery season.
Connected these would be plenty tall enough for a 4 man tipi/tut/cimmeron with only 2 legs sections out on each.

Just thought I share, maybe someone else is looking to replace or minimize some pack weight.

Also each stick comes with a mini ball head that connect to top of the handle if wanting to glass or shoot off single stick. IMG_0773.jpegIMG_0778.jpegIMG_0776.jpegIMG_0774.jpegIMG_0777.jpegIMG_0775.jpeg
