Let’s say you have a young 160 inch three year old buck with lots of potential. Is it common for a deer like this to get a considerable amount of extras from 3 to 4? Or once a typical always a typical?

Just depends likely but I'd bet most bucks that are non typicals at 4 yrs old were showing some sign of being non typical at 3 yrs old. idk!

I think a lot of nontypicals start out as 4X4's. I also think many bucks will have extras as they age. Look how hard it is to find a big slick horned 4X4 that will make the book.

Our bucks get the extra points at about say 6+ years of age, the regular 4 pts start regressing into racks with crown type points many times by later ages.
