Two Blades

So I'm looking pretty hard at shooting a fixed two blade broadhead this year. Solids are out of the question with their price, although I like the looks of them. I know magnus have been around a long time. I see Swickey on the shelves once in awhile. VPA has been mentioned a few times in my research as well.

But the broadheads that have intrigued me most are the DRT single bevels. Does anyone have experience with these specific broadheads? I've read that they can have issues with threading into some inserts and that concerns me some given the extended inserts on my arrows.

What's everyone like or dislike?

I'm shooting a 70lb bow with a 28.5" draw. My arrows are Gold Tip kinetics with a 300 spine.

Thanks!

Not sure about the DRT heads. Never heard of em. I have used the magnus stinger 2 blade quite often and am pleased with them, Fly true and equal to field tips out to 50 yards which is the furthest I practice. Ive had them blow through the local blacktail in my area with my 60 lb setup traveling 240 fps and around 390 grain arrow. I've also used the free replacement warranty with no problems and fast service.

I've known some guys that have shot them and they didn't have any complaints. They flew great and killed animals. They do have a tendency to fold the point back if it hits something hard. They're on my list to try before September but the one thing that holds a little doubt in my mind is that the bleeder blade isn't a single bevel. It'll cause resistance to single bevel main blade rotating the arrow as is it goes through the animal.

I'm going to see how they fly with my setup but more interested in seeing how Anarchy's do for a single bevel choice.

If you don't want to spend for the Solids, you definitely won't spend for the German Kinetics that I shoot. AWESOME heads.
I am a two blade fan. Have heard good things about the DRT but haven't used them myself. Isn't experimenting fun?!?!?!!!!!!

Anarchy broadheads. 4 pack is 50 bucks i beleive. Made in Oregon and they are awesome. Simple, single bevel design that does some serious damage and flies great.

If a single bevel is important to you then Anarchy, Helix or Cutthroat would all be better choices in my opinion than DRT. All are much stronger heads and no issues with tip curling. They Anarchy offers a 1-1/2" cut and flys very well. I have been shooting the 150 Cutthroat at 50 yards and they are very accurate and are one solid piece of steel, no screws or aluminum ferrules.

I have shot a few animals with a two blade magnus, several more with a two blade Solid and one with a two blade grizzly. They all performed well but the Solids flew head and shoulders better than the magnus out of my compound. The grizzly was with a recurve but I plan to use them this fall for a bison hunt, out of my compound. I feel like I have ample time to tune them properly for great arrow flight out to 60 yards.

I had deep six solids flying to 100 yards before my moose hunt. However i had 3 of them break shooting targets and had a buddy have multiple break on animals. So i went with GK silver flame. Same arrow flight and put my moose down in 70 yards

I tried the VPA 2 blade non vented 175 gr last year. Very sharp when they arrived and very durable head. I had great arrow flight with them, although I was shooting a slower bow last year. I believe I was throwing those heads around the 255 fps mark so maybe they dont fly as well when you start moving up. The only thing that has turned me off a out VPA is that they rust fairly easily, albeit just some surface rust.

Just run a little bit of chap stick over the sharpened portion of the head. The "kiss of death"

I have been using Kudu points and they fly great and since it's a smaller company they have great customer service and even sent me a free broadhead to try out before buying them. They fly just like my field points and hit hard.
