700 yards

IF I am shooting </= 1 1/2" at 100 yards that's 10 1/2" at 700
So if all shots fall 5 1/4" above or below center, no adjustment

IF I'm shooting </= 2" groups at 100 that's 14" at 700
So if all shots fall 7" above or below center, no adjustments

But if the center of the group is favoring high or low should I make a correction?

How much high or low? Could be an anomaly, scope tolerance, bc inaccuracy or conditions input.
I figure muzzle velocity extreme spread is all over this too.

If you're using Shooter and you correct your Muzzle Velocity based on your findings all its going to do is bump your speed around 25fps per .1 mil.

I guess I’m not explaining myself correctly

It’s a hypothetical scenario
Say it’s a five shot group

Am I correct in the first two assumptions since all shots are falling into my known cone of fire?

Regardless of my group size at 700
do I just adjust my velocity figure to match the center of the group?
I’m assuming I do.

Yes.

Trueing BC or velocity with a known/good gun, known/good lot of ammo/bullet and BC, and known/good fundamental shooter for 700 yard “groups” is normally not required. Nearly all who are seeing “groups shift” for elevation at realistic hunting shot ranges are doing something in their shot process to introduce the discrepancy, or they are using a stupid calculator that is trying to do things like AJ, spin drift, coriolis and other things that aren’t needed at 700 yards.

If you’re constantly shooting in the same location and general DA, making slight corrections for that gun/load profile in your calculator based on multiple high round count groups at 700, or using another known/good shooter with your gun to confirm the same discrepancy works just fine. In saying that…

SO many times I’ve seen guys dick around with their profile and “true it up” based on something like 5 shots at say 700 yards. Then the next morning they are dicking around with it again and just correcting out what they “corrected” the day before.

I’m likely not “shooting the difference” in day to day 700 yard 10 plus shot groups to make a profile tweak based on a small group centering tendency from that shooting day. A repeatable 1.5 MOA shooter and gun at 700 yards is a heck of a lot rarer than we think.
