What's your favorite truck to get to and from the woods? we are from western Oregon and have been seeing a increase in raptors and tundra's in the woods. i currently am running a 2012 ram and all though it is a great truck but sometimes the fact of being really heavy and a stick shift it's not so great in the late season. hunting solo a lot and getting stuck has its complications.

Chevrolet Silverado if you want a full size or if a mid size a Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab as it is slight better on fuel. The Colorado now only offers a 4 Cycle but ist o have a lot of torque. I have a V6 Colorado and has a long bed also been discontinued but I like the 20 miles to the gallon over my last Silverado that was only getting 17. But each has their prefered brand, mine is Chevrolet. Tried aFford long way back and before that an Toyota. Each had their issues Ford had brake issues every 30 k needed them replaced. The Toyota had a leaking oil pan. my 4 Chevrolets the brakes last 80K less maintenance costs...
Good luck in your decision.

I have been considering a new truck to replace my 2007 Ram 2500 w/5.9 Cummins. The truck is still doing great, no body rust, 215,000 on the engine that should be good for 300,000 to 500,000, and fuel mileage is unchanged from when it was new. Brakes last 90,000, tires last 90,000, water pump is new. The problem is I can't find anything in the new offerings that can compete with my 18 y/o truck. Small gasoline engines pushed with turbos seem unlikely to have the longevity I would like. Fords non-turbo V8 is aluminum block and head. Maybe the issues I remember have been solved, but aluminum has not had a great track record for longevity in engines.

So, my favorite truck for getting into and out of the woods is the one I own.
