I’ve been thinking of trying a hinge release. I got a gift card for Cabelas for Christmas and they have the Tru ball sweet spot II ultra 3 and a Scott back spin. Since I would be new to a hinge I’m leaning toward the Tru ball since it has a safety. Just wandering if anyone has any good or bad opinions about them? Thanks

I just ordered the TRU Ball Sweet Spot Pro release after talking to my local pro shop and the guys at Lancaster. Since this is my first hinge release I like that is has a safety. Gonna use it primarily as a training aid to address a mild case of target panic.

They are excellent but save yourself some money and buy a used one in the archerytalk classys. The Carter honey, honey2, or honey do are also excellent. The Carter's tend to hold their value better but I prefer the sweet spots. You can start with any old beat up hinge and just use a string trainer until you build up the confidence to use it with your bow also.

I agree with GMC, I purchased the two we have for $75 each off of the AT Classifieds. A carter evolution is also a great tool, probably a better tool to learn to use actual back tension, both will help get rid of anticipation much better than a wrist strap or thumb.
