Tripod Table for glassing and shooting

OK, here is a table and bag I made up for NRL hunter matches and for hunting. Weighs a pound, and I will cut it down more. It can be used with or without a head. It is filled with Git-Lite beads and waxed canvas bag for good grip.

I am going to cut weight and add a bungee option to strap the binos to the bag.

I added a strap for binos. Works slick. Also added clamp and found a double ARCA rail so I can run it on my rifle or my tripod. Still right at 1 pound.

I am sure it could be lighter, but its diminishing returns. I will look for some CF sheets to see. I haven't weighed it but Ken with Salmon River is making me some prototype plates.

@LivetohuntID what does one of those plates weigh?

Based on that, I think a CF sheet isn't going to save much. On Amazon, it looks like a roughly 8x12" sheet of 3 mm cf sheet weighs about 9 ounces. So, a 4x6, 24 sq in piece would be 4.5 ounces. These are 5x5, 25 sq in ABS plastic.

What if you sketonized the carbon fiber?

I think it’s a good concept, I just couldn’t see carrying it for a pound.

I will have to see about that. Probably can skeletonize it.

As is, it has an arca clamp and a double arca plate. The clamp is for running it on a rifle for matches. Set up for hunting, with just a plate, it will be less than a pound. I think I will get rid of the buckle, and just add a triglide.

The bag will also double as a rear bag, so it pulls double duty, my favorite thing.

I used one of Stephen’s prototypes at this past weekend’s NRL Hunter match. I really liked it overall. Cleaned the tripod only stage with it. Perhaps the best use was glassing and lasing targets. Used it for that on almost every stages, sometimes even when shooting prone. It also worked well as a rear support once or twice.

Light, simple, versatile. Since anything you carry way back in better have more than one use... this fits the bill.

I've been communicating with Stephen since October when he released the "production" version of this bag / table. He reported being slammed with his day job. He went the extra mile to get me the bag after some shipping issues.

I am back! Been hell of a ride to the end of Covid, closing out a partnership and practice, changing employment, and staying up with orders that came in. In December my hunting buddy @SkinnerinAZ partnered up in Thunderbird and he is up and running, sewing inventory.
