Tripod recommendations appreciated

Yes, I use the Spartan Davros head on my light weight tripods and a Spartan Javelin bipod for my rifle setup using their gunsmith adapter's. Then I use their optic adapters on my binocular tower and spotting scope. I also modify the tripods to allow the legs to spread further. One system for rifles and optics.
Got ya. Thanks for clarifying

I picked up a MTN HNTR SS earlier this year and have been using it during scouting season. So far it’s been a great tripod. Light, versatile, pack ABLR and the head on it is awesome.

I have same setup. It’s the best I’ve tried and I’ve tried a lot of them.

Absolutely love my Aziak
I will second the Aziak! It is ridiciously light, very stable, with a lot of functionality. Sure, it is a sitting only tripod, but for good glassing you want to be as low as possible. He does have the Aziak Front country now, I don't know as much about that tripod, but I do know it is bigger, bulkier, but still has alot of the same design principles. Looks promising.

Thanks for the solid review. Glad you're enjoying it.

I’ve been debating similar models myself. Specifically, the Slik Pro CF-633 and the Aziak Backcountry. I really like the Slik’s height range over the Aziak but it comes with a lower weight rating and weighs a bit more. I think I’d ultimately be happy with either one so scrutinizing the details is probably pointless.

I will third the Aziak Backcountry. Amazingly small, light, and stable. Unless you absolutely want to stand while glassing/shooting, this is the best backcountry option if you want a lightweight tripod.

I have a few of the Kopfjager K800's and they are great, but my buddy has a Slik that is the same height and weighs almost exactly half of what the K800 does. There are things I like about the K800 better, but if you are weight conscious, both will get you to the same height. I mostly use these for hunting hogs in Texas at night with thermals where I usually only have to walk a couple hundred yards from the truck, so the weight is less of an issue. I like to be able to stand, so the Slik, Tricer-AD and Aziak front country are the three lighter options I'm considering now for a moose hunt.

No offense intended to anyone running an outdoorsman but I’ve never been a fan. I went back to my old tripod pretty quickly and sold off the Outdoorsman not long after purchasing it. Lesson learned.

I’ve been looking at the Slik 624, 633 and the Aziak BC. What did you think of the quality of your Slik?
It's about what you'd expect in that budget and weight range. Wasn't disappointed in the least when accounting for those factors.

Leofoto-

A few things to consider: are you thinking at all of shooting off it? Are you shooting a magnum cartridge? Are you going to set all your equipment up with Arca clamps?

Tiny legs on a tripod and a magnum do not mix well. Get something with fewer and beafier legs, 36 mm legs and 28 for smallest part of leg extensions. If all equipment is not on an arca clamp, think of a good table, build your own I’ve posted before how to do this, and a good bag. The table and bag will work with spotter, binoculars, and shooting.

Flimsiness and shooting or wind and a spotter are not good combinations for me.
