I have used a handful of plates that hold the spotting scope or bino adapter to the tripod head. I always have the screw that hold the adapter to the plate come lose over time. Sometimes daily. I've tried several different kinds and even done loctite for my last hunt and they still came lose. I bought some locking washers and still came loose. Is there some trick to this I'm missing or does everyone deal with this problem of having to retighten in the field? You still need to be able to remove the screw obviously when desired, but man, can't get them to hold. Thanks

i would probable be fine with my bino adapter being permanently attached to its plate, but I don’t want the spotting scope permanently attached to a plate…

3m double stick tape between the foot and plate (comes in different strength look at the automotive choices). The plate can't pivot and loosen the screw. For extra insurance use a quality thread locker or nail polish on the screw.
