I just picked up a Vanguard Endeavor HD 82 spotter and I'm looking for an all around tripod for it. I think I've narrowed it down to the Promaster xc325c and the Slik 634cf. My uses for the tripod and spotter will be split between general birding/wildlife viewing and backpack hunting. My dilemma is that I'm thinking the 3 piece leg system of the Promaster will be a little more stable at full extension than a 4 or 5 piece of the same height. The issue is the collapsed length of the 3 piece. Will I be able to get low enough to use it sitting? I think it's around 20.5" for the 3 piece and 18" for the 4 piece. Any thoughts you guys have on the matter are extremely appreciated. Thanks!
