so I was fortunate enough to draw a NV antelope, mule deer, and a unit 16 bull elk. I've pretty much got everything I need. except a tripod head.. question is.. is the outdoorsmans micro pinhead worth 200+ more than the benro s2. or has anything else come out that I haven't seen

Can’t answer your question since I’ve never used either of those two, but they are not your only options. Pro master makes an ok pan head that runs about $50. Suiri makes a very good one, VA5 I think, for about $150. What spotter are you running?

cabelas kronos 65. to put my sear h in perspective. I bought the manfrotto 700rc head, and it never made it out of the house. I'll look into some of the other options mentioned. I'm not against a 300 head. but if it's not a noticeable 200 upgrade. 200.00 can buy about 5lbs of h1000

Are you happy with the manfrotto 700 rc? I have 2 of them and like them. I also have the outdoorsmans panhead and love it. Also the Ourdoorsman pistol grip with panner is my head of choice for my 15s

I prefer the benro s2 over the outdoorsmans....but the outdoorsmans has better quality materials and will last

A ball head with good panner is s nice option as well

What optics are you planning to put on it? I recently picked up the Outdoorsmans pistol grip and panner combo for my 12s and I'm really impressed with it. The amount of fine adjustment control in that rig makes glassing so much more convenient and comfortable. But then again I'm not running a big spotting scope and I have never used the pan head.

We have the Sirui V-A5. It's awesome, normally $149.99, would be $129.99 and there is a $15 mail in rebate. It's Arca Swiss compateble as well. I am back on Tuesday and will be checking e-mails until then

Thanks and have a safe holiday

I like my micro panhead better than my manfrotto 700, can never seem to get it tensioned properly for my 85mm spotter. Looking to try regular panhead to see if I like it better. Normally use my micro on 65mm and my 12x56 binos. Have a Surui ball head also. But to me it's not the same type of comparison.
