Bought a Slik Sprint Mini 2 and Manfrotto 324rc2 to use with my Zeiss bino's.

Slik's bolt (to attach pan head) is too short, won't thread. Already taken both out of the box and don't really want to ship or try to sell and lose more money.

Any thoughts for a first time tripod user?

Slik uses a 1/4 20 and the manfrotto uses a 3/8 16 do you have an adaptor? They are fairly common. I cannot see how the stud could be to short maybe a picture

Yup I had to use these to mate my Slik with a Vangaurd head.

If the stud is really too short than something is not right - If I remember right the stud is actually a allen bolt threaded from the inside of the center column out. Maybe unscrew the 2 piece center column and see if the allen bolt has backed down inside the center column.

On my slik to attach the manfrotto head I had to buy a adapter. The adapter thread is really small though. If you need picture I can help you out. When you buy extra plate for the head, it comes with an adapter.

I think k that adapter will do the trick. The base of the manfrotto sits flush with the center pole of the Slik where the male threads are.
