Tripod head adapter compatibility

I have an old vortex summit ssp tripod. It uses a 1/4x20 quick mount plate. See below.

Does anyone know if this head will accept an arca dovetail? If not, is there any adapter for arca to this? Or should I throw this thing in the garbage?

Trying to figure out how to connect an arca/swiss aziak bino clamp to it.

I’ve got a Pro GT and it uses proprietary plates.
I ended up buying a bino adapter that accepts the 1/4-20 threads that are in the plate.
Only way I saw to do it.

I have an old vortex summit ssp tripod. It uses a 1/4x20 quick mount plate. See below.

ARCA clamps on the long edge of a plate, so you can move a camera with big lens forward or back for balance, depending on if shooting up or down.

That old Vortex looks like a proprietary, or at least a less common design.

Doesn't the Aziak have 1/4-20? But you'd have one of your plates stuck to it all the time.

If you don't want to buy a new head with ARCA, you could just add an adapter clamp like the one below. Just put your plate on the bottom and you'd be converted over to ARCA. But it adds some overall height.

Yup, thanks. I didn't realize the bino clamps have a 1/4-20 thread . That will be the way to go until I replace the tripod. I don't think the tripod itself is worth replacing the head on.
