Some people use 14x-18x to replace a spotter for weight savings. I’ve used EL Range 10x42 before and they’re nice glass, certainly a step above my Zeiss Conquest HDX 10x42, but for observing an animal you’re deciding on at distance the 15x SLC would serve a better purpose if you don’t wanna carry a spotter. Obviously a good 60-85 spotter is the king. The Razor UHD 18x have some good reviews, however I personally haven’t used them.
