Does Trijicon have one of the worst warranties in the industry? Its says it only applies to the original owner…anybody tested this? Seems crazy that it isn’t transferable.

well, tehcnically Minox has a worse warranty, since it's 30 years for original owner vice trijicon's lifetime for original owner, but the original owner issue is shared flaw for both. Minox warranty might be transferrable one time on zp5 models only, but there is paperwork involved and depending on who you talk to at beretta USA they may or may not acknowledge that the warranty can be transferred.

I had no idea it wasn’t transferable…what a joke.

From what I can make out, the warranty issue is why some of the optics shops that supply a lot of the PRS guys no longer carry minox despite praising them highly in around 2019 or so.

Have you tried reaching out to them about a issue?

Trijicon seems to be getting a lot of love on the forum due to the scope drop eval. Their shitty warranty should also be taken into consideration. Mostly because it could impact resell values.

Has anybody that isn’t the original owner ever sent an optic into trijicon? Do they charge an arm and leg for repairs?

I reached out to them about a ZP-5 that was on ebay a couple of months ago, Beretta USA told me no warranty for me, and also said no warranty for any secondary purchasers. However, there is a Beretta USA form that can be filled out to transfer the warranty one time from the initial purchaser to the next purchaser, it requires a bunch of details and cuts the warranty to I think 10 years for the second purchaser.

I’ve sent my scope back to Trijicon for repair. They had excellent customer service and never asked whether I was the original owner or not and they never looked it up in their database either. When I called I also talked to a very knowledgeable person which is a rarity in itself. They fixed my scope for free and had a quick turnaround. So overall I had a great experience, hope this helps.

I sent one in for a repair and they never questioned if I was the original owner. I did have to send it back in again when the repair was not done well. Second time was a charm.

I sent one in but it was registered, they pay for shipping and actually had UPS pick it up from my house. Was really good service and turnaround time.

I was so pissed about this I called trijicon - just got off the phone with their customer service. They said despite what their written warranty says they know they are competing with companies like Vortex and Leupold and Nightforce, so if there is something wrong with the scope they will fix it. He said they never ask if the owner is the original owner and their priority is taking care of their customers.

It sounds like that reflects what some of you have already experienced. I would be interested in hearing from people who have experienced something other than what they states.

This is good to know! I was concerned for a second after reading this. Thanks for sharing

I’ve sent them 2 different thermal scopes for pixel repairs, and they covered both scopes. One past the 3yr warranty, and one that was under the 3yr warranty.

I am the 2nd and 3rd owners of the scopes.

They paid for ups shipping both ways also

Top notch thermal customer service.
