Trijicon Tenmile 3-18 vs 6-24

Trying to figure out why the 3-18 is approximately $500 more expensive. I know the 3-18 has a full illuminated reticle but is that why? The 6-24 has more elevation travel and obviously more magnification. 3-18 is ffp only but if I had my preference I would go SFP anyway. The only other difference I see is the turrets. The 3-18 has a taller elevation turret that’s exposed. I do prefer a little beefier turret when I’m in the field and wearing gloves. Am I missing something else?
On a side note, can anyone compare the MOA reticle thickness on the Trijicon to the Nightforce MOAR reticle. I’ve had some reticles that are too small and I lose them on targets. The MOAR is perfect for my eyes. Leupold windplex is too thick.

Check out the 3-18x50mm. They are SFP

The 3-18x44 are FFP-only (like you said). So to answer your question, FFP is typically more expensive than SFP. I think the 3-18x50 is identical in most every way besides the focal plane and it's cheaper than the 3-18x44 by several hundred dollars.

That’s good to know. I think I will go with the 6-24 since I get more magnification, more elevation travel, and less money.
I did get info on the reticle thickness if someone cares.
NF MOAR 0.1 MOA
Tenmile HX 6-24 0.175 moa vertical, 0.125 horizontal
Leupold Windplex 0.2 moa

I have the nightforce and trijicon. The trijicon reticle is absolutely larger than the nightforce. I like the way the nightforce stops to let the center float. I struggled with bowling pins at 1980 with the trig as it covers the pin where I can float the nightforce.

For any game animals inside 1k it is great. The illumination is great.

Personally I want one of those 3-18 ffp mrad scopes. I can’t justify it right now. It’s Christmas time and we had a baby 7 days ago.

My opinion is 44mm is better on a hunting rifle than 50. 44 Typically weighs less (moot point in this situation) but more importantly, I can get a better cheek weld to the stock with 44 than 50.

I also like ffp scopes.

If you want a 2FP triji get the 4-16x50 or 2.5-15
You don’t want to be on 24 power to subtend accurately

Here’s the 2.5-15 he’s talking about and the other scope id recommended… again 50mm is big in my opinion, but lots of people using it so take that for what’s it’s worth.

I just picked up the 6-24 and missed it when ordering but there is no zero stop on that one.
Otherwise the scope is awesome. Super happy with it for the prices. I’ll just index the turret for a return to zero.

How's the dot brightness on 6-24x50 at dark?
Is the lowest setting faint enough to not overwhelm the view for aiming?

Which do you like the most?

Probably the 5-25. Weighs the same as the 3-18 and its more scope. I think the 2.5-15x42 is the perfect scope for an ul backcountry rifle. I have it on a ridgeline FFT in 280 AI.

We used it coyote hunting at night and the dot didnt wash out the rest of the view.

I bought the 3-18 Tenmile in MOA. Sportsman has them for $1350 and if you sign up for their text message garbage you save another $100. For $1250 that’s a lot of scope. I think the reticle on the 6-24 would be too thick and I really dislike scopes that don’t have a zero stop.
