I really like the Trijicon scopes for a simple 1” BDC scope. However I’m having a hard time understanding their BDC drops on the reticle. It seems to me based on the ballistics from my rifles their BDC drops are for very slow or poor bc cartridges. With the first drop at 2.24MOA, then 5MOA, and then 8.32 MOA. Am I missing something simple here? Anyone with much experience with these scopes that can offer some guidance?

I have one on my 223. I’m shooting 73/75gr eldm handloads. Sighted at 100, each hash is basically another 100 yards. I used the 300 line a few weeks ago and rang steel on every shot. I wasn’t permitted per range rules to check out the steel target, but best I remember it was center of target. I also dialed for 800 yards. I turned the dial all that it had, minus 2 clicks and I was good at 800. Turned it back to where my zero was and shot for a group on an E target and it was back to normal. I would confirm on paper, but it seemed to track just fine for that one instance. IMG_9593.png

Also, am I missing something with the 5MOA wind hashes? With my .243 it takes a 20mph full value wind to move my bullet 5MOA at 400 yards.

The wind holds are pretty useless.
