I’m seriously considering a trijicon accupoint either the 4-16x50 or 3-18x50 for my new hunting rifle. If you have one and have used it hunting have you ever had problems with not being able to see the “fiber” dot in different light/backgrounds like shooting into the sun or an animal standing in the light and your shooting from the shade? Also, has your fiber dimmed noticeably over the years? 700 yards would be about the furthest it would get used out to. Thanks!

The half life of tritium is 12.3 years. My oldest Accupoint is 7 years and I can't tell the difference in that and a year old one. My plan is to send it in at 12 years so I can renew the tritium (and the warranty).

I picked up a tenmile bacause I wanted a more magnification on the high end. I went with the 4-24x50 because the center dot is very similar to my Accupoint 2.5-10x56, however this one uses a battery. Like it alot, you aught to check that one out. 20241018_111625.jpg

I have not used it at long range, but my AccuPoint 3-9x40 with the green dot hasn’t had any issues with lighting out to 300 yards. I covet the 4-16x50, but I can’t justify it in my current budget.

No issues with any of my Accupoints reticle brightness. I've had to dim them on occasion. I'm risking become repetitive on this forum, but I really really like Trijicon Accupoints for hunting. And my 1-6 normally lives on my AR.

1-6x24 Green Triangle has been used in Texas, Kansas, and Arizona. No problems.
2.5-12.5x42 Mil-dot has been used in Texas, Montana, and Yukon. No problems.
3-9x40 Duplex has been used in Texas and Kansas. No problems.

My oldest was purchased in 2016. It's the 1-6 green triangle. I just used it on a mountain lion hunt. I can't tell a difference in brightness from my newest 4-16x50 purchased last week. I haven't tested them in the dark. The spool of fiber optics gathers considerable light.

I haven't mounted the 4-16 yet, but the turret feels great. I got the mil-ranging reticle. It seems like a near perfect SFP riflescope.
