Trigger Pull Weight on Hunting Rifle

Rifle warranty issues normally show up immediately. If you have a few boxes of rounds through it, you are probably 100%.

Not a whole lot of manufacturing issues that can go wrong that aren't there from the start.

I feel like that is something you have to set it and then go shoot from positions you will likely encounter hunting to assess what is heavy vs light for you.
I like 2.5-3.

A hair trigger on a hunting sporter will reprimand you if you get slack on trigger discipline.
2 or 3# for me. I can shoot a heavier trigger well if it breaks cleanly the same way every time but it's more of a chore on dynamic targets.
If you get slack on trigger discipline, you’re likely to be “reprimanded” anyway. I just hope that the only damage done is to your ego. Unless you’re planning on shooting, and doing so soon-your finger should not be anywhere that the trigger could be engaged in the first place.

I don’t necessarily disagree with your answer of 2-2.5 pounds, but I disagree with your logic.

Logic does not govern the actions of others in the wild. Perhaps it should, but...
