Tricer RP Bipod Review

I ordered one and have only shot with it a month. I also have had Atlas and Harris bipods for 5 or more years for comparison. Yes, the Tricer is a little less rigid than the other two. However, the adjustability up to 40” is great. The lock up is good, takes some practice to get it down, but the pan is a non-issue for me once I got better at locking it down quickly.

This may be just me, but I tried loading the bipod and not loading. What worked best for me so far has been the opposite, pulling into me, a reverse loading you might say. I shoot it best this way.

I ended up going with the Tricer bipod and love it. I agree with what you’ve said about it too. I got the Wiser Precision Arca Swiss plate and really like its simplicity. I bought several for my other rifles in fact. I’ve been using it these last several weeks at the range and have some predator hunts coming up that I’ll be using it on too. One thing that I’m still trying to figure out is the best way to have the bipod attached and also be able to sling my rifle over one shoulder without the barrel tilting backwards. It doesn’t help that my rifle barrels are full length with a 7” suppressor on the end. Thinking about getting a Kifaru gun bearer instead, but not sure yet.

I just received my RP bipod and it does in fact have the new pan lockout. It seems to lock up well and at most has 1/4” of movement at the ends of the legs in the long configuration, collapsed and stowed if that makes sense. I would guess maybe 1 degree. Really glad to see them incorporate this option for folks who don’t want the pan, yet still give the option for people to use it if they desire.

Just to clarify, you're saying Tricer has released a new version of this that locks the pan separately from the cant?

That’s correct. Probably best to order straight from Tricer to make sure you get the newest update as I’m not sure how long it will take current inventory at retailers to turn over to the new model.
