I was looking at a pair of Mountainsmith Andesite's but after all the reviews on the cascades + the price... hard to beat that!

I have used the Cascade Moutain Tech carbon with cork handles for last 4 years and just now am ordering a new pair. For $48 on amazon and performed amazing in rough/harsh terrain I have no reason to buy a $169 pair. My issue with buying $120 - $199 pair is they still won't last you forever like some other buy once cry once gear.

Also, something to pay attention to: I recommend trekking poles that have a larger top to the handle as this works great as switching hand positions. I actually use them in this position more than using the actual handle grip like they are intended for. Leki, Sissy Stix and the Mountain Cascade all have the large palm top to the handle.
