I just picked up a new set of carbon Leki trekking poles from Black Ovis. They are really nice and super light, but the only drawback is that the grip and upper part of the stick is wrapped with a thin foam layer, they call it Thermofoam. It looks and feels like crushed velvet. This seems kind of odd to me, and any other trekkers I’ve seen have rubber or cork grips. Not sure I like the material and I’m not sure how well it will handle sweat, how good the grip will be, etc. They are comfortable in hand, though. Any thoughts? Anyone use similar or same sticks?
