What is a good hang on fixed stand with arm rests and a decent platform? Looking for the wife and I.

They don't necessarily have arm rests (you'll have to look them up to see what I mean), but Millennium treestands are top-notch. They are light weight, super comfortable, and the platforms are pretty big.

My milennium m100u is great. No armrests but you can buy a shooting rail It is really light for what it is. I will warn you I have fallen asleep in it, and comfortably. Only stand I have ever felt safe in enough to do that.

Google it. It is like a throne. Makes all day sits/stands bearable.

I am on the complete other side on Millennium! I tried one this year and I can't believe that anyone could feel secure in one. The attachment system doesn't work that well and the contact points at the bottom make the stand not very stable against the tree. I have been in nothing but Lone Wolf's for a long time and for me the comfortable seat on the Millennium just isnt worth it.

It does not have arm rests, but I was very happy with the Hawk Helium with kickback seat. Very comfortable, stable, and quiet. Did a 16 hour sit in one this past season and felt fine.

Well I'm trying to convince her she doesn't need arm rests but she says it makes her feel more comfortable. Was considering an ol man roost but will look at others

Love my Millennium 100u's! Extremely comfortable and I have never felt unsafe in one. Although I leave all of mine in the woods all season and add an extra ratchet strap to the bottom of them, but I do this to all of my stands. The straps that support the seat kinda work as armrests as well.

Make sure to use a lifeline with her. Show her how she can fall from anywhere and not hit the dirt. I spend a chit load of time in a tree stand and nothing compares to that level of confidence.

Arm rest will make anyone more confident as well.

I agree with camping1601. I set up two hang on stands and climbing sticks in a hunter / camera man style setup with my wife. We use a lifeline from before raising a foot off the ground. That gives her (and me) a lot of confidence for her to climb and step onto the stand (always set up so she can climb up and step down onto stand).

I like Muddy and Lone Wolf stands, but I usually set up my Big Game hang on for her because the platform is huge. That helps her confidence a lot to stand up with a big platform to stand on.

Was actually just looking at the big game stands. Looks wide and stable like she wants. Weight isn't that great but may be a good sacrifice for us.

Another thing you can do is watch Craigslist for used aluminum extention ladders if your going to be putting the stand up on private land. A couple cans of spray paint and your good to go. I find it much easier and safer get into the treestand that way.
