travel route from Maine into New Brunswick?

I'm driving up to Newfoundland next year for moose. Is there a preference of border crossing with firearms, and meat? Houlton/Woodstock on I-95 or St Stephen on US1?

I doubt there's a preference, however I think crossing at Calais/St. Stephen would be less driving for you. The airline (Rt.9) is a great road and a quick trip from Bangor. I used to cross the border there all the time back in my Calais high school days in the early 90's. That was before you needed a passport or anything. Good place to grow up! Good luck on your hunt!

I have Crossed both many times. personally I would stay on 95 and cross at Holton vs Calais. Few miles longer but an easier ride.
Never had any issues with either spot.
