I've been searching for a hunting travel duffel that can be taken through the airlines or thrown in a truck to hunt for a week. Some level of waterproofness would be nice, but it doesn't have to be dry bag level. Rolling would be nice for airports, with some sort of interior organization to separate clothing.

The bag I have now is an old Cabela's waterproof duffel and its a pain to carry when full. Everything sags to the middle and it doesn't roll. No interior organization or pockets.

I've been looking at the Eberlestock B4 Atlas. Thoughts? Spendy.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Definitely go with wheeled. I take mine through the airports every year for my Missouri hunt. I also have a couple wheeled, soft sided coolers to bring meat home. I like the looks of that Atlas. That would serve you well. Yes, a bit spendy, but it is probably bomb proof.

For a true waterproof dust proof duffel the yeti panga is awesome.
Its a true airtight / water tight dry bag.

I tried to airline with it twice and it ended up with a ripped off handle.
Which yeti promptly warrantied and replaced the bag.
I still use it if my bag is gonna be in the back of the truck.

For checked luggage travel and international stuff the thule chasm has been good to me.
It gets a bit scuffed up from conveyors but the wheels on it are very good for long walks on streets and sidewalks and it holds a ton.
Its semi waterproof.

Love my Panga. Also has the benefit of providing some protection for valuables if it’s got some air in it — protects against shock (thought your stuff might move around). You can also sit on it if you need a quick seat at the airport.

Another option is uncharted supply’s vault duffle — which is almost exactly the same as the YETI but way cheaper: https://unchartedsupplyco.com/products/the-vault-100l

Loved my Panga but only took about a year before an airline destroyed it. I swear they are getting rougher and rougher on bags. That’s the 3rd waterproof bag they’ve ruined in about as many years.
I’m using two Ortlieb 110 duffels now. They aren’t as durable as the yeti but fit a bit more and it doesn’t hurt as much when they die.

Yeti warrantied mine without question that southwest was kind enough to rip the handle off of. It was the handle on the end of the duffel. I had the shoulder straps removed so they wouldnt catch the conveyors.

I dont normally take the panga on the airlines anymore due to this reason.

However if I had a trip that required a dry bag duffel. Like an alaska drop camp I would take it on the airline again without hesitation. Until then it works very well in the back of my truck when I know we will have extreme dust or rain.

I have the Sitka Drifter 110. It holds everything I need minus my Sitka Blizzard Parka (outer coat). The straps are bulletproof, either used as a carry handle or backpack. The bottom appears to be made to transport in a boat if necessary (totally waterproof). The zippers are heavy duty and have a flap that covers them in case they are exposed to rain, everything will stay dry. I have tried several other bags over the years starting with an Army duffel bag which is a pain if what you need is in the bottom of it, you have to take everything out. This Sitka bag has seen 4 years of hard use, and is still going strong. A little pricey, but you might be able to find it on sale, or if you know an "outfitter" then you can get it from Sitka for 50% off.

Just checked Sitka website, they are on sale $175 with free shipping. Many color variations available.

My wife and I prefer no wheels and waterproof fabric. Wheels suck when you're going a few miles on city sidewalks.

Mine is the First Lite Dirtbag. 30+ flights, a few thousand miles in the bed of the truck. Zero issues.

Yea I always tied the lose straps up and never had a problem. Southwest somehow completely blew the zipper out, they had to of run over it with something as I push all the air out before the flight so it doesn’t get super inflated. They paid me for it after some back and forth but I just took the money and bought two of those ortliebs for the cost of one panga.
I still love the pangas and have a small one I use as a carry on. Airlines are just too rough on luggage to regularly fly with nice bags.

That’s been my SW experience as well with multiple things the past 4-5 years. I’ve gotten to the point I won’t fly them anymore if I can help it. A couple of years ago my wife’s bag didn’t come out on the belt. We went to the office and they handed us a trash bag with about 3/4ths of her stuff in it, half of which was ripped and destroyed, then shrugged at us and said next 😂
I guess I just got lucky on the yeti for once.

OP I just got the email for Kuiu Labor Day sale, duffels are 50% off, might be worth looking at.

The Atlas is heavy. I have been using the osprey transporter duffels and they have been awesome.

I agree about SW. IF there is ANY other option I will take it.

The kodiak 6600 looks legit but per the website This product is excluded from all promotional discounts and offers.
