Live in Southwest/Central PA. This is the best terrain I have available for training for a hunt. Sandstone boulder outcrops at about 2600’. Just going to focus on time in these areas testing my gear and staying in shape.

I think the biggest thing is keeping your feet in shape, tough, all the rest is just mind over matter. Finding a boot that works under sever hiking conditions is paramount. I've seen the hardest of men fold due to messed up feet i.e. blisters.

That will definitely help get you into good shape and break in the boots if needed. What part of BC are you going for your hunt?

Yes I’m using my hikes to see what works best. We have plenty of trails to hike but I’m focusing on off trail

This morning I was trying my meindl vakuum hunters so far they are the most comfortable boot I’ve tried not the stiffest I wish they had a tad more ankle support but they stick to the rocks very well

Boots are important you don’t want to get any blisters on the heel of your foot. Also take some duct tape and put it on the back of the heel and you won’t get any blisters

Train, train, train and then train more. Go the your local football field and climb the bleachers and stairs with a pack on your back. Hydrate as often as possible. Then, train some more. There ain’t no air up there for flat landers.
Oh yeah, good luck and have a great hunt. MTG

Looks like you've got a good training slope. Booking a cheap flight to Denver or Salt lake to do some day hikes on a long weekend wouldn't be terrible either. Here's some Kootenay Goat country (south of whiteswan lake)

One exercise that most people aren't doing but helps a ton with mobility, strength, stability, balance, resilience and injury prevention especially for mountain terrain. Cossack Squats.
