I chased this big 8 the entire season and finally caught up to him right at the end of the season. I had missed a shot at him about 3 weeks earlier.

I enjoy finding and hunting specific deer, so I generally have a ton of pics and video before I actually shoot them (multiple years worth). It’s been probably 6 years since I had a surprise buck show up and killed it at first sight.

We’ll see what he looks like in 4-5 yrs. Bouncy lil bugger. Ear tips and black tail should be easy to track.

Some bucks in photos are like “wow”, others have “ground shrinkage”. One is missing a fork on an antler. All good bucks, some angles just have wow-factor.

IMG_2933.pngIMG_2931.pngIMG_2932.pngIMG_2930.pngThis will be year 2 of hopefully trying to draw blood on this Florida public land buck, hoping I draw this unit again (recently drew the archery tag last year and tried to get him early season he was in the area every day based on trail cams but went nocturnal from what I could tell it was a fun chess match trying to locate him in daytime moving, also drew the rifle tag during the rut but he was long gone from the area by then) put in for archery, muzzy, and rifle tag hope I get lucky again since this is home range and draw it lots of mature deer in the area.
