Trail cam help

I just picked up two moultrie edge solar cameras. Little did I know that these will not work unless I have a subscription because the photos are stored for "free" on their server. Looks like it's the only way to get my pics. So back it goes.

I've such bad luck with new cameras lately. Mostly because of issues with their apps.

I run some basic garde cameras. No cellular, no app. They just work. But I would like a couple cellular ones for the few places I may have reception. But I need for them to work without a subscription as well. I just need reliable. I don't need the best quality pics, just good pics with decent clarity, and fast enough speed to actually capture the animal.

Yeah. I honestly think the prices are dropping simply because the subscriptions are so lucrative.

I get that. But I also need it to work without it for areas I have no reception. Most areas I hunt have no receptio, so I hike in to pull pics.

Tactacam reveal x gen 2 can be used like a traditional cam where you can just view the card or set it up to have pictures transmitted. We currently just pay the 12 dollars a cam and have them sent over.

The newer gen 3 I believe doesn't require a card and stores to the cloud. Some reviews prefer the 2 over the 3

We've had good luck with tactacam and their customer service. We've used the 2's and I picked up a couple 3's on black Friday but they likely won't see the field until next season.

Spypoint has a free 100 pictures a month plan. Not as good as Tactacams, but they do the job
