I have a Win 94 in 30-30 made in 1994. Fun to plink with though “accuracy “ with iron sights and the horrible trigger on it is subjective. I wanted to hunt with it as a Nod to the old West so took it on a Wyoming antelope hunt. Got lucky on a close shot.

Thanks for all the info guys! I would really like to get a newer Marlin cause of availability and price. Just wondering if people here have new Marlin's? I have a buddy that just got one of there 44s and the milling was not very precise so the action was real rough. He took some sand paper and a file and fine tuned it but I'm not sure if I'm interested in that.

I’ve done a bit of hunting with old lever guns, they’re some of my favorites, and I’ve collected a few over the years. Currently my favorite is a M94, .30WCF, manufactured in 1899. I don’t know how many animals this thing has taken, but I’m sure a few, and it’s still a pretty good shooter as far as I’m concerned. Needless to say, I have yet to kill anything with it, but give me some time, and I will.

I’ve always wanted a model 1873, so I just bought one in 32-20, that was manufactured in 1893. Plan on hunting with it in the near future as well. I really love old guns in general, and especially the old lever Winchester’s, the gun that won the west.

I have a 1976 Win 94 in 30-30 that's a dream to carry. I also have a 1984 Marlin 336 in 35 rem that I have stacked deer up like cord wood with. I love them both. Don't use them much anymore as I m saving them for my boys.

If they where all I had I would hesitate on hunting anything in the the lower 48. I ve been looking for a couple lever unicorns....still aint found them yet, but when I do I ll have em. 71' and 1886 are two on my list

Rossi R92 in 45 Long Colt. I’ve since taken the tang sight off, the recoil is pretty snappy with 335gr hard cast and it bloodied me one too many times. Ladder sight on it now. Also have one in .357 which is perfect for younger/smaller shooters developing skills past the .22.
