midwest gun works and JA outdoors both stock them, they seem to be unavailble right now. But its a good option as they do come back into stock time to time.

I prefer Midwest for pricing and discount. Picked 1 up there ~ 3 weeks ago but it seems like they only get them 2x a year. It’s actually hard to find non fluted bolts right now. Bummer LRI quit making them, that was so convenient.

What is the advantage of the unflutted bolt versus a fluted bolt? I figured the fluted would be better for weight savings? I also need to buy a Tikka magnum bolt for a build and am a novice with all of this stuff so just trying to learn.

The unfluted bolts are smoother.
I tend to be pretty aggressive with the bolt and fluted bolts feel gritty and can bind
Those fluted also catch crap and drag it through the action
Not worth the weight saving
