I’ve been wanting another rangefinder both as a back up in case mine goes down on a hunt and so that my wife, who hunts with me all the time, has one when we separate. I currently use a Revic BR4.

The display to select profiles, adjust settings, etc, is easy to navigate and intuitive. The wind adjustment feature is super fast and intuitive.

The phone app was a little less natural for me to navigate than Revic’s app, but still easy enough.

The laser adjustment and zero is a very nice feature. I didn’t need to use it. Mine tested dead on on telephone pole and power lines.

Comparing the solutions out to 525 yards, they were very close, but not exact for 3 different profiles tested. The Tract was giving me .1 MRAD of adjustment less than the BR4 very consistently. The range on the BR4 was also consistently 1 yard further than on the Tract.

I won’t get it out to do some shooting and drop validation for a while, so actual solution comparison to the BR4 will have to wait.

I used a 1951 USAF resolution chart at 39 yards to compare the optics to a 10x42 Swarovski NL Pure. I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular. These are $2k ranging binoculars vs the best $3k binoculars in the world. I was wrong! I was able to resolve exactly the same amount of elements with both binoculars. I could not discern any difference in resolution. The narrower field of view was noticeable, even at 39 yards, which surprised me as well. The Tract seemed to have slightly greater magnification than the NL Pure, but after checking, it was an optical illusion, l believe caused by the narrower field of view. Color rendition was different. The Swarovski color appeared perfectly neutral. The Tract, when viewed next to the Swarovski, seemed just perceptively off. I would call it very slightly warm.

Ergonomics were good. The eye cups were a little thick for my taste. I found the best comfort viewing with the eye cups all the way down.

This test was conducted while seated in the shade, with the sun behind my right shoulder at 4:45 PM. Both binoculars were mounted into tripods.

I still have further testing to do in low light as well as solutions outputs.

I took them back out last night. I didn’t have the NL Pures on hand as I had boxed them back up for shipping (they are for sale if you are interested). I did compare them to 15x56 slc after sunset. Both binoculars provided plenty of resolution and until after legal shooting hours. I didn’t feel compelled to continue evaluating them after that point. However, brightness and resolution remained fantastic.
