Tow rating ?

Chevy is running zero percent for five years right now. And the fact I have 10 acres to tend to is leading towards a 1/2 ton again. Girlfriend’s dad bought a 1500 custom as he’s a farmer and wanted a lighter weight truck to haul and tow lighter stuff with.
I specd out a custom trailer boss with the turbo max motor is 310 HP and 430 torque
I’m not understanding the amount of weight I can tow?
Max GVWR is 7,000
Max GCWR is 14,500

Is the GCWR loaded trailer and truck weight combination?
If I divide that I get 7250. Is that the max I can tow?

We are getting a small 25 horse tractor, front loader, brush hog, and rear blade.
Tractor weight average 2500 pounds, the implements vary. I wouldn’t be hauling all that stuff at once should I need to take it somewhere

GVWR is the max weight for the truck and anything loaded on it. If you subtract the payload on the door sticker from GVWR that is what your truck weighs and hence how that payload # is calculated.

GCVWR is combined truck and trailer total allowed. If you are just running around the property dont worry too much other than the weak load ratings of the factory 1/2 ton tires.

If driving on the road (and trying to be legal) you can figure 10-15% of a bumper pull trailer will be on your truck and counting as payload. 1/2 tons and suv's nearly always go over payload before reaching a max tow rating.

On 1/2 tons a 5k rv or 7k flatbed is usually good to go comfortably.

0% for 60 months is a great deal, I'd jump on it if you find the truck you like
