Just half way through a non hunting trip of a lifetime from the UK (well to me and the wife) currently in Yellowstone with one night in Bozeman on Saturday

Is the Sitka factory shop there worth a visit ??

We started in Denver, done Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Moad for Arches and Canyonlands, Monument Valley, brief stop at Salt lake , idaho springs and Jackaon/Teton NP, 4 days in Yellowstone, then Bozeman , Cody, Deadwood, Nr rapid city for Mount Rushmore, Custer NP, Crazy Horse, Badlands, then onto Ft Collins before Denver and home

Fortunate so far to see Elk I thought carrying out a UK 150lb Fallow deer was hard enough so I take my hat off to you bigger game hunters

Fabulous seeing Bison and a fleeting view of Moose and a Griz, certainly feeling blessed to be able to see such wonderful places

It’s a retail store with all the Sitka stuff. If you like Sitka or want to check out something in person, then sure. But it’s nothing memorable.

Bozeman is a cool town with cool shops and restaurants. Though it has changed a lot since I last lived there 7 years ago. If you wanna see hunting retailers, there are quite a few besides Sitka. Stone Glacier, Schnee's, Kenetrek and Peax to name a few.

Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman has a good dinosaur exhibit. T-Rex named Sue is there right now ( or cast of her)
Shops downtown are $$ tourist traps. It’s tourist season and road construction season so…

That is quite the tour list. You have a great mix of things to see. Glad to have you in the States. Your agenda looks like one of my trips. Pack in as much as you can. You can rest when you get home. If your route allows see Devils Tower in East Wyoming. The Bad lands was one of my favorites.

I would second the Museum in Cody. We have had a family membership for 4 years. Sometimes going more than once a week and every now and then I find something I've never seen before (not new exhibits lol).

If you are already in Bozeman, then sitka and the meateater store are worth a stop. The Breweries are worth checking out. There is a pretty cool fly shop in Livingston. What route are you going to take from Bozeman to Cody?

Custer state park was nice, not sure what it is like this time of year, but the wildlife loop was worth the drive. Also, the needles highway and a stop at sylvan lake. Badlands, if you get of the pavement and drive the gravel road to sage creek campground, you might see more wildlife, but again, not sure since it is summer.

Thanks, got Meateater on the list. Are there any shops in Bozeman that sell reloading supplies after some 130gr ttsx for my 308 or should I wait until cabelas in denver?

UK just announced a ban on lead for hunting so will grab some extra whilst here as no doubt be a run on stocks at home

Hopefully you spent some time around Lamar Valley in Yellowstone. Best place to see animals there. We got to see two bull moose do a little bit of fighting a few weeks ago there.

Also, you can definitely spend a day in just the gun part of the buffalo bill museum. We also enjoyed the Old trail town in Cody. The nightly rodeo is fun too.

Yes lamar Valley is today's plan thanks
Get on a Facebook group for the park and you can get updates where the dead bison and elk are - that’s where the wolves and bears will be first thing in the morning. I’d skip Bozeman and spend another morning in Lamar Valley until the wolves are done eating.

Not sure why Fort Collins is on the list unless it's just on the way back to Denver (I grew up there). If it were me I'd go to Rocky Mtn National Park instead, which is close to Fort Collins. RMNP entry is by reservation only except if you show up before 8 am. You aren't supposed to access all of the Park if you do that but it would be well worth your time to drive up Trail Ridge Road, turn around, and exit. This would be a worthy one day trip.

Some great advice above. When in Rapid City to see Rushmore, you wouldn't be disappointed taking a drive down Needles Highway or Iron Mtn road.
Beartooth Highway is worth the time as well.

If you can swing it after Cody and on the way to the Dakotas...go to The Little Big Horn Battlefield National Monument...it's currently only open on weekends, but it is a fascinating place to visit.
