For backpacking, hunting, and general land navigation, what topo scale would I be better off with, 24k or 25k? It seems to me that 24k is the standard USGS topo quad. On 25k though, 1 cm = 250 meters (.25 km). I prefer using the metric when using a map & compass. I know I can print 10k scale maps for very detailed areas or I can print parts of a quad, but I want to know what pros/cons there are 24k vs 25k when getting a full print of a topo quad. Thanks.
