I probably know who I am using to do a full size of a dall sheep, but have two friends still looking at options. Who in your opinion are regarded as some of the best - currently - for sheep?

Thanks

Have used toms and safari room.
Have not used Dewey but seen some incredible mounts and reviews from them.

Life size Stone Sheep done by Tom's Taxidermy in Clark's Grove. Seen a bunch of his other work that is excellent.

Dewey does not appear to be taking new work per web page.
Duwayne Dewey is retiring, the link @CHL posted is a biz started by a guy from Dewey.

Correct, Josh Hunt is now pretty much across the street from Dewey @ Deer Creek Wildlife Studio and running the show. Quite a few of the guys from Dewey went as well. Same exact quality and service. I’ve had a ton of stuff that Josh has done, and he had my Desert at Sheep Show in his booth.

Paul is great too, and he and Josh are great friends and refer back/forth with each other.

I decided 20 years ago; I am not making a science project out of choosing a taxi. Now I just go to any local guy. I dropped off capes in TX, NY, CO, NY, and other various locations. Not once was I unhappy.

He did my wife’s ewe full size and has done 7 shoulders of various animals for me the last few years.

I bet he’s got 6 rams in line right to do. It’s kind of his thing is sheep.

Sheep are one of the more difficult animals for a taxidermist to "get right". One common mistake I see is the lips tucked too tight giving a severe pursed lips look. No bueno. Eye's are often set wrong, proportions are incorrect, horns set at the wrong angle, etc, etc. Anybody can mount a sheep, but very few taxi's have the experience to make them look life like. If possible, for those making recommendations, post a picture of a sheep that that particular taxi has done. We will see both good and, umm, not so good.

I think that would help the OP greatly in his recommendations for his friends.
