Well, this goes out to all of the medical pros in America but specifically to those employed in that field who are roksliders-------thanks for handling the front lines.
I have a buddy who is most likely positive and he got tested yesterday in Ketchum, Idaho. He said his nurse that helped him was on her 9th 15 hour shift in a row.
So, thanks for being there.

Amen.
One of my beat friends is an ER nurse, just got cleared to go back to work after a negative test result. Grateful for all the front line folks in the world right now.

Great respect and appreciation to anyone in the medical field. Nurses in particular. Few jobs are as selfless and thankless.

Thank you.

God bless and protect the health care providers who stand between this illness and the lives of Americans, as never before. They are our warriors and heroes in the war against COVID19. Support the health care workers you know as they risk their lives to defend you.

I would like to bring this back up. Lots of folks out there working their butts off and probably aren't getting much thanks.
Once again, thank you.

Just so folks are aware of a few things. Not only do those who are dealing with this have to handle the stress of being at bedside they are also being discriminated against for doing so. All manner of nasty comments if out in public in your scrubs and I know for a fact two of our nurses have lost their daycare due to being frontline.

I understand people want to stay safe, but it makes a hard situation even worse when it feels like it is held against you for making this commitment.

Once this is behind us, history will be in your side. The people who displayed extraordinary amounts of selfishness, who intentionally espoused misinformation and deceit, and people who exposed themself to be generally pathetic excuses for being humans will be the true villains. Frontline Medical workers will be the celebrated heroes much like Firefighters following 9-11.

I'm not going to call them warriors. This isn't armed service. They could quit and go home and hunker down. And, they don't have a drill Sargent sticking a boot up their rear while hard wiring their brain to be uncompromising when doing things no one wants to do.

However, what I will do is call them the bravest people in the world. They are doing this out of free choice. Out of total commitment to their job. An unseen adversary that lurks every where but, can't be seen. That is bravery and commitment that can't be described. God Bless them all with safety and strength.

A co-worker of my wife was on her way home and stopped to get gas. She walked inside, in scrubs, to grab a water and the dude flipped out. Started screaming at her to get out and not touch anything. The irony is that she would be the one that would be clean and scubbed not the average idiot out and about wearing a N95.

Thanks Randy. I'd be lying if I said that I haven't contemplated taking an early retirement over the last month or so, but I keep showing up for work anyway. So far we've been pretty lucky up here in AK, as we haven't seen anywhere near the level of chaos as other parts of the country, and hopefully our early lock down bods well for us, I guess time will tell. Thank you very much to all my fellow ICU nurses, physicians, technicians, and all those in the medical profession and particularly the respiratory therapists. With all that's going on right now and all the praise and attention being given to the ICU nurses, I feel like it's our RT's (the main people managing the ventilators on our sickest patients), that are the real unsung hero's. So, a huge THANK YOU to all the respiratory therapists out there! Wishing everyone good health and safety.

Medical professionals are trained, equipped and staffed to deal with a wide range of "normal" patients and illnesses. They are confident that if they use equipment and procedures properly, they will be protected from the infections they treat routinely. When the protective equipment is not available, when the negative air flow rooms and ICUs are full and unavailable, when staff is managing double or triple the caseload they are meant to care for, then the risk of catching the deadly illness they know they are treating skyrockets.

To continue working in the face of this known threat is absolutely above the bar. Heroic is not an understatement. More lives are being save than lost, in the face of greatly magnified risk to medical staff. Boundless gratitude is due. Thanks and deep appreciation to each of you. Even more gratitude and condolences to those who have fallen in the COVID battle.
