Picture time!

La griz its like you found a $20 in your pocket after the wash cycle! The BCS2 is super modular, basically a stand up LBO. They should really make em again.

I'm using mine as an example because the specs are so similar to the Redcliff, for those interested. (Not sure what order the pics will show up in)

My 2nd base was from a different run (one brown and one grey) but you can see at 5"10" 250# there's room to stand in the middle I believe the BCS2, 4man and Redcliff are all 6'10" at the pole so they should share this feature.

In the base you can sleep two length wise or width wise with gear either between you or on the outside (ie cuddle zone in the middle) I've done both. I sleep with my head to the pole/stove so I can feed it from my quilt.

With the vestibule on sleeping quarters are in the base, packs hit the deck by the doors on vestibule side and wood pile behind the stove. Very manageable with 2 hunters and gear.

Lionhead,
As to your comments on getting more than I bargained for, I agree. Original purchase was a 1st gen BCS that was a "blem" or had an irregular seam. When UPS delivered the torn package all I got was a carbon pole and some pegs! Dam the luck! Seek Outside made it good by delivering to me the present BCS-2 in time for my 2013 fall hunt. All for the same discount price! Can't beat that for service! Shout out to Becca and the SO team.

I'm 5' 11" and I fit about the same when standing next to the pole. Your pitch is superior to mine as I never seem to get the walls that vertical. I'm thinking I need to avoid pulling the sides out so far. In this way the tension on the pull outs will yield more useable room. Need to practice my pitch. I'm not 100% sure that I don't have an underling uneven construction issue. Wish I could post the pictures to show this. I agree that this model is for all practical purposes a tall LBO shelter. All for a slim weight penalty. LaGriz

PM'd for pitch advise as not to derail the thread as these are no longer offered.

Super sad panda face because if had to have only one shelter this is the one...

(Seriously guys email SO, they only stopped making them because lack of sales)

I have a sawtooth and I feel that two guys with all gear in it is perfect. Room to set some stuff out without being too cluttered. I have a medium box stove and I feel it's too big unless its 0 or less. I don't use it during archery season because it gets too hot. You also loose a good amount of room with it. The footprint can be tricky sometimes to find a spot big enough in trees or rocks that it can fit but I think a round 6-8 man would be a nightmare. I feel you would be limited on spots to set one. Hopefully that's helpful.
