Tikka

Okay...how about “very uncomfortable”? Will that satisfy you? You have to contradict everything I say? You must be a stud because a 6lb 7rm is not “VERY” tolerable to many people on this planet.

these are not "brutal" by any stretch, they get your attention without a Limbsaver but once that is installed they are a VERY tolerable rifle to shoot (and I HATE recoil)

sorry !!! you were relating YOUR recoil experiences and I related MINE (I've owned at least 7 of 'em in my lifetime and none seemed "that" bad is all I meant) I just recently had my last Tikka 7 mag rebored into a 338 win mag, now THAT one get's my attention ….. it's all about the weight of the bullet and newton's law

I shoot a t3x in 6.5cm, and consider it an absolute joy to shoot. Also have a compact AB3 Browning in 6.5 that is lighter yet, and consider it a great kids/new shooter/wife rifle. I know folks love their brakes, but I just can't hunt with one. Too freaking loud, and I like to hunt in thick timber. No interest in spending my whole hunt in ear plugs, and rarely time/memory to put them in. I've shot the heavy calibers in light rifles, and it is just not worth the punishment. Too many other good options that do the job with modern bullets.

I was surprised and very happy at how much softer my T3x 6.5 Creedmoor with a 130gr projectile recoiled compared to my ..30-06 with a 130gr projectile.

Mine came with a roll pin as well but it seems way to large to fit into the receiver. Did you just have to hammer it in?
The hole for the recoil pin on the receiver should be between the front two threaded holes. It should be larger than the roll pin. That way you can position the ring forward (towards the barrel) within that hole till it touches. If that makes sense. That's how mine is installed

If you look at the Area 419 rail you can see where they have the recoil pin if that helps

This will be my 2nd season shooting a T3X Superlite in 7mm Rem Mag. It shoots clovers with 162 gr Hornady SST factory loads, and I haven't even tried shooting anything else out of it. Recoil is somewhat heavy, but I use a slip on gel recoil pad at the range. In the field it isn't necessary.

I've taken a bull elk, mule deer buck, and whitetail buck with it. The whitetail was the only animal to travel any distance after the shot. He dropped and got back up, but I finished him with a follow up shot as he was hobbling off with a dislocated front shoulder.

Thanks I get what you're saying. I have also seen people use a pin or stud in the rear hole as well.
