I think it would be good to call XLR to confirm. That is the extent of my understanding. Let me know what you find out. Thanks

Tikka magazines are all one length and use one bottom metal. XLR chassis are not for Tikka magazines but rather AI pattern mags which differ notably for long and short action.

The Tikka long action chassis accepts the 3.560" aics magazine. This is for cartridges like the 300 WM, 7mm Rem Mag, 7mm PRC, etc.

The Tikka short action chassis accepts short action AICS magazines which are for cartridges like 6.5 creedmoor, 308, etc.

The action cut for both chassis is exactly the same since all tikka actions are the same, only the bolt stop changes from a long and short action to dictate the amount of bolt throw you have on the action. Let us know if there are any further questions!

I just received the new MDT 7PRC polymer magazine. It works great in my XLR element 4.0 LA chassis and saves a good amount of weight, too!

Looking at doing a similar setup,

Is there a lot of metal rattling with the metal mags or are they pretty snug? I hate super loose fitting mags

It’s the polymer one. Not the metal one. There’s no rattling or anything. They fit perfectly.

You have to order from MDT not from XLR.

Did you have any issues getting your rounds to feed in the XLR? I’m able to feed the first and second rounds rarely consistently but it will not grab the 3rd round in the mag. Also occasionally gets a partial feed on the first 2 rounds. Not sure if that’s a sprint issue or what.

No feeding issues with the MDT polymer magazine. I did have problems with the other magazines I tried.

I made a quick video, but it looks like I can only upload pictures.

There's is a company cutting the 7oz 3.560 mdt metal mags needed for Tikka la. I don't know what the final weight was but for 120 in the comment he said mail it to him and he'll cut it to a 2 or 3 Rd mag

I think its obvious from the picture but Kinport Peak Rifles is the one cutting those magazines down. They have done the Tikka mags and metal XM/Medium mags. The customers who have had one done have all been pretty happy.

I built a 7prc out of a 300wm donor - the mags fit the rounds perfectly. No issues at all.
