Tikka vs Seekins

I like a tikka and dropping it in a manners then pillar and bed. Have a few and all hammers.

Tikka take offs are $75-200 😁
Sure, if you want to run a more traditional cartridge. Also, you’ll be paying another ~ $150 to get it cut and threaded.. It’s quite a bit more expensive to get a Tikka rebarreled in many of the more modern cartridges and barrel lengths than it is a Seekins..

Seekins sells $550 prefits in 20” 6CM and 20” 22 ARC today. With 20” 6 ARC and 18” 22CM prefit options slated to be available in 1Q 2026.

And for those claiming the PH2 action is rough, I’d encourage you to give the new PH3 or M3 action a rip. Massive upgrade…

I pay more like $100. They are dang. Nice barrels though.

I agree from when I’ve handled them in the store. No comparison to a Tikka IMO though.

You mean the rifles where it was SOP that you could never have the rifle loaded and move- for exactly the trigger issues stated? Or where the SOP was to carry a can of lighter fluid to flush the trigger group out every day? Or the school house SOP of having rubber bands on the rifle and scope to wrap around the bolt handle to never let it close, and in front of the safety to keep it on- and either one of those happening (bolt closing or safety off) were grounds for dismissing the students? All precisely because of triggers failing.

Eh. Maybe it’s all made up.
I was just saying he was entirely wrong. The 700 is used. Didn't say it was a great idea.

The US military used the M24 for decades and still currently use M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle. They're Remington 700 actions.

I'd buy a Tikka, but just saying that the Remington 700 was the gold standard for a long time. Not anymore for sure though.
Win Mod 70 was the preferred sniper platform until it was no longer available, then Remington was awarded contracts.

I have not had a Tikka that wasn't at least MOA. Lots of people trash their stocks but they have worked very well for me.
My son is in the process of deciding to rebarrel a Tikka or go Seekins PH3.
