The Ruger American rimfire rifles are surprisingly good. Not even close to a Cz in terms of craftsmanship but they are impressive anyways. I got one of the exclusive American rimfire mini-ranch rifles for dirt cheap a while back. It came with a 16” threaded barrel and a pic rail installed from the factory. I threw a banish 22 that wasn’t getting much use on it as well as a cheap vortex scope using some warne vapor rings that I had in a box. The thing will shoot as many bullets as I can fire into a 1” group, pretty much any ammo. It’s more than accurate enough for shooting ptarmigan, grouse, rabbits and squirrels. No offense taken, and I am not a Ruger fan boy by any stretch, but they got the American rimfires 'right' (I do disable the trigger blade thingy). It's ever bit as solid as the CZ and feeds better from the vastly superior magazine. The CZ mag is kind of a S-show and rather expensive IF you can find them in stock. My 5 rounders all have a habit of occasionally jamming on the last round. Both are good guns.
Another dandy, if you can find one, is the old Remington 581 for a light squirrel rifle.

Im planning to put a can on it and shoot rabbits from my deer stand with it. The farther I can hit them the better. Does that change anybodys opinion?
Balance point is rite there where the forend bumps down for the magwellHows it balance in hand off tripod?
I looked hard at both one big thing that made me go with the Cz is that they are nitrided, I hate having to keep up with blued guns.I’ve been looking at 22 rifle for squirrel, rabbit, cheap practice, shooting with my kids. It will have a suppressor, so I’m looking at the 16” barrels.
I feel like tikka is the easy one given all my bolt guns are tikkas. But the 457 royal is also appealing. Either way - neither are shooting any comps and will just be a nice platform to shoot suppressed and walk the woods after deer season
