Tikka vs CZ - 22LR

Not really at all. He has had a good experience but several others here havnt. His post dosent destroy anything in this thread. Sorry.

Agreed. That whole meaningful sample size is a thing. If one person has a good experience with one rifle for 10,000 rounds, that doesn’t negate many other people’s poor experiences, even if their aggregate round counts are lower. It either means that the one person is doing something markedly different, or has a better rifle.

If the extracted case is laying on he new round in the mag its the extractor. or/secondly, if you don't pull the bolt all the way back fast enough this could happen. Good luck with finding the problem.

The guys that run the precision 22 league at my range advised strongly against t1x because of all the feeding issues they've observed.. I wanted same trigger as my other tikkas too. The trigger in my CZ455 is easily the worst of any rifle i own but the rifle functions and shoots pretty well. I dont much care for the "tacticool" varmint stock either.

I’m just having fun. It was pretty much universal voting for CZ up to that point in the thread. I like that we are getting input from so many different users and maybe even a bit of positive friction, that’s going to lead to the best results at the end of the day.

Have you shot a 457? Factory form plus a Yo Dave spring is good. IMO really good.

Eject for me. I’ve never had any hang in the chamber, but they will just not throw out of the receiver and just land on top of the new round or in front of it so I gotta tip the gun to drop it before running a new round in.
Does the case fall out from the extractor before it hits the ejector or hit the windage turret and bounce back in

Regarding the not cleaning issue, does anyone know much about 22lr powder? I’m curious if it’s modern smokeless or old fashioned powder that could be corrosive.

I finally found the CZ-457 American Synthetic stock 20" threaded barrel rifle for a halfway decent price. I really wanted the wood stock but all I could find in wood was thick varmint barrels or 24"+ barrels. Looking forward to trying it out. I already have a couple .17 HMR's, but I might try to grab a T1x in .17 HMR as well.

Thanks @sndmn11 for mentioning Murdoch's. I hadn't tried there until you mentioned them, but they were a lot cheaper than most everywhere else that had this rifle......and had 1 in stock.

I have had good luck finding wooden stocks on Rimfire Central. They need new bottom metal too if you get a wooden stock for it.
