Tikka upgrades?

That bottom mag is AICS, top is the Tikka shit show. 2.435” 75 Amax.

I’d rather change the bottom metal and have more options than rely on the MT mag.

We’ll see, it’s a work in progress. The MT might be suitable if shaving ounces. Been thinking AICS flush 3 rounder on my ‘06 if the Frankentikka pans out. Last thing T3’s need is weight in the ass.

I get it. I’ll do anything I can to stay away from an aics mag for a hunting rifle.

I’ve got a few gripes with AICS too. They seem loud and clunky. And have no back stop on the mag (at least the one I have by accurate Mag).

Exactly my gripe with them. Loud, clunky, and they hang out the bottom. Great for a match or tactical rifle, just prefer to avoid them in a hunting rifle.

The Sterk swept AI Style Bolt handle is money well spent. They are made by a guy in Australia in batches, on the side from his real job. I’ve bought them direct from him for less than US dealers, but he has a waiting list and patience is required. I almost don’t want to say anything lest the wait lists get longer. Other than stocks, this would be my first upgrade done to a Tikka:

It’s just under 3 lbs,, about a pound heavier than the factory Tikka synthetic stocks. Settled the recoil down nicely on my .270

That’s really not that bad at all. Worth the weight I’m sure!

Only 3 months from down-under, thank you CV-19. Just thrown together at the moment. Might shoot it in another 3 months.....
