Anyone have one and can tell me what they really weigh? Different sources give different answers for the same cartridge. I’m primarily interested in one with 308 based cartridge and a 22.4” barrel.
Also, is the barrel the same outer diameter for all? i.e. is the barrel contour the same on a 308 and a 243? Lastly, how deep is the fluting? Considering a rebore to .338 if there’s enough material there.

Also interested as it doesn't make sense that Tikka lists the same weights on their website for lite and superlite...

Heard as light as 5.9lbs but that's unconfirmed...

My factory T3X 7mm-08 Superlite 22” barrel was 5.9lbs on my scale.

Mine was around 6.2lbs if I recall for a 6.5cm t3x lite before I removed 4" from the barrel. Magnums will weigh more. Superlites will be just slightly less and not worth the cost unless you just like the look of the fluted bbl.

My .30-06 superlite was about 5.9lbs. I think the muzzle was somewhere around 0.61" diameter

Perfect, thanks.

Happen to know muzzle diameter?
Mines a T3 not the new T3x but they didn't change anything on the barrels, its .630 @ the muzzle. The flutes really aren't that deep so you might be able to rebore it??

On weight mine did weigh just under 6lbs when I first got it but I changed out the stock and lost a couple ozs.

My 300 wm weighed in at 5 pounds 15 ounces. I think I have a picture of it on the scale somewhere.

The tikka action is the same across the board, so instead of being a true long or short action, its more of a "standard" action length. I think max COAL is roughly 3.4", so for a short mag like you're looking at, it should handle that fine. You'll likely have to get a different mag and bolt stop to shoot longer bullets, but you shouldn't have to make it a single feed.

I'm not picking a fight or trying to start an argument; but, I think this is wrong (note I said "I think"). As all of the actions are the same, I speculate that the rifle with the larger bore caliber/diameter, will weigh less as there is less metal. I don't feel like taking the scopes and rings off of mine to check. I am open to the fact that Tikka may use different contours on their magnums; but, that is not the case on mine. Of course barrel length would need to be taken in to consideration.

I would agree with that also. Other than the barrel length being different on the magnums I'm 99% sure the barrel contour is the same on all Tikka T3/T3x Lites and Superlites.

Any idea if it’s a #1 or # 2 contour
Well, not really sure how to answer that - its the Tikka factory barrel, but if I where to try and compare it to an aftermarket barrel from say a Lilja or Benchmark or Hart its maybe between a #2 contour and maybe a #3ish contour. Its also probably similar to a factory Remington sporter barrel at least at the muzzle.

What’s the new chamber?
338 Federal. Had it chambered with a custom reamer and use the M+ mags which really provide more flexibility when loading. 2.94” in these vs. 2.82” max in my 84M.
