Haven't heard much about these. I've seen them for sale online and just assumed it was a fluted blued barrel with a green stock. Not that exciting IMO. I'm looking at getting another Tikka so I was browsing for deals today and came across these again. Except this time I saw the description stating a 3 position safety and matte black finish. Is the black finish something like cerakote or just a matte blue? And does it actually have a 3 position safety? Anybody have any info on these?

A buddy of mine picked one up a couple months ago. I helped him turn down the trigger pull and retorque the action before shooting it. The finish on the metal didn't seem like classic rifle bluing - especially not compared to other blued t3x rifles. It was matte and it was black to my eye. It also seemed to have a little rougher surface. Almost like a very fine powder coat but i doubt it is....Whatever it is, it's durable. We got back to his house one evening and discovered that his barrel had settled against the bino mount on my tripod in the back seat. The vibration resulted in the barrel flutes actually wearing into the bino mount a little bit - I think zeiss uses magnesium for those. There wasn't a mark on the barrel.

His rifle definitely did NOT have a 3 position safety though. Everything was standard t3/t3x in the action/bolt/safety / trigger department.

I have one and love it. The finish is a cerakoted matte black. Barrel is flutted. She a shooter. Safety is fire and safe. If you have more questions or need more pictures I can send them to you.

Also looks like all calibers come with a 24" barrell vs the former superlite where just the 6.5 had the 24" (I believe anyway)

Unless sportsman's warehouse has the wrong barrell lengths listed. They show all at 24.

are you certain that this is black cerakote? it seems to be clean and factory whatever it is.

I’m interested as well as well about the Cerakote. I saw this rifle on gunbroker a while back. Don’t need another rifle but might pick up a tikka just to see if they live up to all the hype. Everywhere I have looked described the t3x superlite with OD Green stock as having either a “matte black” or “blued/black” finish. It’s not in the Tikka website and is an exclusive product for a large distributor. Oddly enough a lot of sellers are saying the action is stainless in the spec. Has anyone confirmed it’s Cerakoted versus blued or some other finish?

I bought a T3X with a camo stock and black fluted barrel 2 years ago that was an exclusive for some distributor and they only made them in 270 & 308. My rifle has a matte black finish but is not cerakote and that is what I assume the OD green stock rifle is as well.

No I’m not. I’ll call Beretta next week to answer the above questions with my serial number. I know the barrel is not stainless and the action is the standard t3x lite action. But I will ask any questions you guys have.

Interesting stuff. For those of you who have/handled one, is the finish like a nitride or more like parkerized?

Only experience I have with parkerized is an old 1911. It seems smoother than that and maybe closer to a Glock slide which is nitride I believe.

Hopefully we will hear back about what Tikka says

Tikka t3x Superlite 6.5 creadmore with OD green stock.

Called Beretta support today, sorry about the delay. The gun is basically at standard t3x action and barrel; fluted 24in barrel that is chrome Moly with a phosphate finish AKA (parkerized) which on my is very good, action is blued after talking to them and looking at mine a little closer. Hope this helps. They won't give much more info than that as corporate tells them what they can say I'm guessing.

Basically a t3x lite with fluted barrel and green stock.

I am happy with mine as its a shooter

Beretta USA is who you call if you have questions on the Tikka's if you need more information
