i've seen a few threads on Tikkas in 7mm defying the normal Tikka accuracy. I was looking at a 7mm-08 but...

I've had good look with Tikkas in 223, 6.5CM, 308, and 30-06

I have a T3X lite 30-06. Groups do spread out when the barrel heats up, but with a cold barrel and cheap S&B 150 grain ammo, I can get 0.75” groups. With Federal Power Shok, it’s more like 1-1.5” groups.

My 30-06 is VERY inconsistent with most factory loads however it shoots the Hornady Precision Hunter 178's lights out. Mine is also very heat sensitive as well. 5 rounds and it's done until it cools completely. I plan on re-barreling mine so I can actually shoot it more & hopefully gain some consistency with a wider variety of loads.

I think you're spot on. Couldn't get a Sako 85 7mm-08 to group to save my life and couldn't get a Sako A7 7mm Rem Mag to group good either. My 6.5mm Tikkas, though, they are perfect weapons. I'm convinced I can get one hole groups out of them if I get the right ammo and hold still enough.

How many shots between cleaning? Did you clean it before it was shot? Did you do a break in process? Has the barrel been bent? Is your scope level? And are you shooting from a rest or off a bag?
