Looking for some recommendations on the best stock for a tikka t3 hunting rifle build? Really wanted a rokstock but I missed the pre order. I've been looking at the KRG echo, the iota eko and AG composite stock. I have no experience with any of these so any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm a fan of AG composites. I run the Altitude and APR Hunter on two of my builds. If I were you, however, I'd also take a look at the Manners LRH-TK built for Tikkas. I am eyeing one for my T3x 300 WM.

i have a Peak 44 coming for mine, have had mcmillan, manners, stockies and ag on different tikkas and just cant find something thats perfect.

Also had a few of nz made stocks, havnt has any issues with any just nothing thats been super amazing

I just received my Peak 44 Bastion and am quite impressed (but I’m no expert). They say bedding is required before shooting with their stock, so I’ve done that and have it all mounted up and ready to go. I haven’t shot it yet though.

I weighed it on my kitchen scale when I received it and it came in at 20.7 ounces, while the factory stock came in at 28.7 ounces.

It isn’t the negative comb of a RokStock, but it’s better than most other options.

My only real complaint is the recoil pad. While not bad, I wish it were softer. I also wish it was a flat mounting surface so it might allow for replacing with a different recoil pad. I realize though, this is probably where substantially weight differences exist.

The recoil pad on the peak44 feels very cheap/chintzy. Also, I think it's a half inch shorter LOP than advertised.

The limbsaver medium size slips on over the peak44 recoil pad, which adds an inch to the LOP. It is a little more comfortable, I think with a slip on pad, to shoot anything from prone having more recoil than a .223.

I can't speak for Tikka, but I have had really good luck running the Pure Precision Altitude stocks on my Remington's. They are also on-sale for father's day right now.

I had the exact same complaint with the blacktooth. Holy hell that thing hurt when I was shooting in sub-freezing temps. It was like a brick punching me in the shoulder on a 300 wsm.

Softened up substantially as the temps warmed.

I know you're looking for another stock, however there is nothing wrong with what you have with some slight modifications. Took the tikka stock, opened the barrel channel some so its free floated all the way back to the action. Installed 3/8" SS tubing for pillars and extended them so that the original bottom metal fits snug. Put on a Victor cheek riser and limb-saver pad and its feels totally different and shoots tiny little biddy groups for a fraction of the cost of another stock. Just thought I'd throw that out there being I see it was your 1st post, but could be a long-time lurker on the site.

Did you have to open up the holes in the stock where the action screws go?

Also, throw a vertical grip on there and it will make the ergos even better.

For more info on the KRG Echo, take a look at this: https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/krg-echo-sporterish-version-of-bravo-for-tikkas.342548/

I'd say wait for a rokstok, I prefer it over the KRG Bravo and factory stock with vertical grip, but haven't used the other stocks you mentioned.

Another one to look into. Inlet is CF, not machined fill.

Yes, I drilled them smaller that the tubing size so that the SS tubing would be press fit in. All I did was use a small c-clamp and cranked in into position until it was flush on top. Now I torque my screws to 65 in/lbs and no issues. Before at 45 in/lb, it started to mess with the washer insert on the bottom metal. Not anymore. I have seen some use a lamp nipple and works the same. I just so happen to have some SS tubing from a project and used that.

I bounced around back and forth between all the stocks. Without experience with many other than KRG (which I like) I opted to go with the Manners LRH-TK. I really like the stock, it feels very good for me at 5'7" and wing span of 5'10". I went heavy on my scope but have a lighter one if I were really looking to shave for an addition 11oz savings. Without Bipod I am at 9lbs 8 oz and have a 6oz bipod on order. Very pleased with it but just finished so proof will be in the paper, but I have confidence it will drive. Ultimately, my deciding factor kept being over trying to save $200-$300 and I have learned over the years to buy once, cry once and be happy the first time.1000014095 (1).jpg
