Tikka T3x stainless 300 win mag mag issue

Good morning/afternoon,

Magazines are difficult to seat unless I’m putting pressure on the forward end of the bottom of the magazine. Also, the magazine will not drop free and feels “jammed” in there. I have to put downward pressure via the breach in order to pop it out. This happens will the original magazine and two new Tikka magazines as well. Anyone experience this? I’ve had zero feeding issues

Only thing that I’ve done is replace the recoil pad with a limb saver. Stock has never been off

Bought brand new. I seated the mag a couple of times when I first got it and I didn’t seem to have this issue. I only just noticed it this past weekend since it’s the first time I fired it.

Check the torque on your action screws. Too much torque can flex the plastic bottom metal and cause magazine binding. I torque all my plastic tikka to 30in lbs and have had no problems at that value.

That’s what I’d check first, followed shortly by pulling the action and making sure it’s seated well in the recoil lug. Might as well turn down the trigger while your in there too.

Different torque values can definitely change your zero, as can pulling your action. You will need to confirm, atleast I would, with any messing around with the action screws.

The good thing is that once you pull it and torque it to a certain spec, you can write that down so it’s always the same.
